Andrew Hawley, of Vintage Rock Posters, announces his plans to search for Jimi Hendrix concert posters from his last Seattle concert at Sicks Stadium on July 26, 1970. According to Hawley, “Sick's Stadium served as the home of the Seattle Pilots during their only Major League Baseball season in 1969. Sicks Stadium was played by many of the top rock n’ roll acts. Elvis Presley graced the stage in September, 1957. Jimi Hendrix when he was 15 years old listened to the Elvis concert from a near by hill because he could not afford to buy a ticket. During the Sicks concert, Hendrix got mad at the crowd for leaving during the opening acts of the concert due to the rain. There are interesting 8mm movies taken of the Sicks concert that show Hendrix behind a huge baseball scoreboard in the background during his performance.”
Hawley continues, “The Jimi Hendrix Sicks concert poster uses a one-off design. Even though no printing credits are listed on the poster, it is believe the poster was printed locally by the Washington Printing Company. It measures 14”x22” and is printed on very thick cardboard. Five hundred concert posters were printed and put up around town in local record and coffee shops. Also, 1,000 8”x10” flyers were printed and distributed locally. This means that it is highly likely that posters exist if they can be found.”
Hawley will pay $3,000 for the Sicks Jimi Hendrix concert poster or any original 1967-1970 Jimi Hendrix concert posters. Any condition is accepted. Sellers will be paid in cash within 24 hours guaranteed. Call 310-346-1965 or email Andrew at andrew(at)vintageconcertposterbuyer(dot)com.
