Jewelry Television® (JTV), the world’s largest retailer of loose gemstones, announced that it has launched a new garnet discovered in Tanzania in spring 2011 - Masasi Bordeaux Garnet™. The multi-garnet is a mixture of three species of garnets – almandite, spessartite and grossularite.
“We are thrilled to present this fascinating new gemstone find to our customers,” said Jerry Sisk, Graduate Gemologist. and Jewelry Television co-founder. “The Masasi Bordeaux Garnet™ was discovered a few months ago. One of our most trusted suppliers immediately knew that JTV customers would respond favorably to a new exotic. We brought it to market as rapidly as possible.”
The Masasi Bordeaux Garnet™ was discovered in a mine in southern Tanzania, an area that has produced sapphire, tourmaline, chrysoberyl, coral and red garnet and most recently Masasi Blue Garnet™. The garnet is a color-shifting gemstone that ranges from honey peach to honey salmon in color.
“The Masasi Bordeaux Garnets are uniform in color, making them perfect for jewelry making,” Sisk said.
Available in ovals and rounds, the Masasi Bordeaux Garnet can be purchased on http://www.JTV.com and range in price from $20 to $300.
“We scour the world to offer the most exotic and desirable gems to our valued customers,” he said.
