Plymouth Meeting, PA (PRWEB) December 22, 2011
Long-term-care provider serving Pennsylvania and Delaware, Friends Life Care, continues to make significant investments in helping aging adults live better lives. They have recently added Dr. Brian Walls as the new Wellness Coordinator on the Care Coordination staff. The Friends Life Care long term care membership plan includes a vital aging support program called VigR, which is designed to educate participants about ways to positively impact their aging process. In his new role, Walls will encourage members of Friends Life Care to integrate exercise and healthy habits into their daily lives. Through a combination of assessments, education, coaching and life planning services provided by Brian and other wellness team staff in the Care Coordination department, Friends Life Care members will gain a better understanding of their own habits relative to healthy aging and will be given the information, tools and support to make positive and measurable life changes.
“The addition of Brian Walls to the Friends Life Care staff relays a powerful message - we are very committed to supporting our members in Vitality, Independence, Growth, and Resilience,” said Carol Barbour, president of Friends Life Care. “Though his background and experience, he will help educate current and future members about the importance of exercise and healthy habits in their daily lives. We are very pleased to have him on the wellness team.”
Dr. Walls is co founder and lead strength and conditioning coach at Whole Health 4 You Rehabilitation and Fitness in Philadelphia. He has been a Friends Life Care VigR Enrichment Workshop leader, completing two 'Exercise: A Prescription for Vitality' workshops. Dr. Walls earned a Ph.D in Physical Therapy from New York Institute of Technology, has a BA in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and was an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College.
