The Carpenter’s Shelter organization targets homelessness through programs that focus on services, education and advocacy. They have been in place since 1988, and have gained tremendous notoriety through their unique and successful life management, housing and aftercare programs. Like every non-profit provider, Carpenter’s Shelter is reliant on donor awareness, access and participation to effectively serve their target population. The integrated fasttransact solution provides them with new channels for accepting donor contributions online, as well as a method for automatically capturing donor contact data, and securely exporting it to their CRM platform.

Carpenter’s Shelter has configured their fasttransact platform to feature the personalized, web-based portal that enables a donor to make and schedule secure electronic payment from their credit/debit card or bank account. The portal captures the standard demographic information about the donor that is needed for processing their payment, then encrypts and safely stores it in the PCI-DSS compliant FrontStream data vault. The secure FrontStream payment gateway delivers a generic authorization token, while protecting the sensitive information for later usage.

Carpenter’s Shelter also opted to utilize an integration feature of the platform that safely streams donor contact data retained in the vault to their SalesForce.com CRM application. As a result, Carpenter’s Shelter has now effectively minimized the time previously spent to manually input this data, eliminated the risks of redundant manual entry and streamlined duplicative information.

Carpenter’s Shelter has also creatively leveraged their new fasttransact solution to support two holiday events. Ticket sales for their ‘Alternative Holiday Giving’ and ‘Cook Off’ have also been integrated into the Carpenter’s Shelter web portal to provide an easy, fully integrated interface for supporters to buy tickets, make contributions and share updated demographical information all at once.
