New Essay Competition Website Offers Scholarships and Prizes with Environmental Twist

Web entrepreneur and environmental activist, Harlan Gaston, is proud to announce the launch of The Central California Global Marketing Group (TCCGMG) and its accompanying online presence, The company awards prizes and scholarship money through essay competitions promoting a green lifestyle.

“We’re here to help students who are attending college,” said Gaston. “We’re also trying to help the general public better their lives by embracing a ‘go green’ philosophy.”

With just a few hundred words, an essayist could win a laptop computer, digital camera, or thousands of dollars in scholarship money. The winner of the inaugural essay competition of will be awarded an iPad2 Wi-Fi 3G 16GB. Essayists are asked to respond to the question: “How will this iPad2 Wi-Fi 3G 16GB make my working or studying environment better?” Essays, accompanied by a small entry fee, are due by February 29th, 2012.

Each essay will be read and evaluated by a panel of judges. Quality of content is stressed, not quantity; this is not a random drawing. The winners will receive their prizes no later than two weeks after the winning entry is declared. Winning entries will be posted online, along with biographical information and testimonial of the essayist.

Gaston has big dreams for expanding the number of students and community members whose lives can be positively impacted by the company’s writing contests.

“The world has to move toward achieving a greener way of living, and our young people are going to lead the charge,” said Gaston. “College students are our future and I know that every little bit of money can help them in their pursuit of an education.”

As TCCGMG grows, Gaston hopes to offer greater, grander prizes such as electric and hybrid cars, innovative water filtration systems, and even green homes. Efforts to incorporate TCCGMG as a non-profit 501(c)(3) are underway.
