Del Mar, CA (PRWEB) December 22, 2011
Those who neglected to make reservations for New Year’s Eve in Paris are in luck: the Champagne French Bakery’s Café Del Mar location has put together an exciting Special Menu for December 31st created by newly ensconced Chef de Cuisine, Ben Amerling.
Chef Amerling’s menu offers diners three courses of French favorites, plus an Amuse Bouche. With choices ranging from Kumiai Oysters on the half shell to Vanilla Scented Creme Brȗlée southern Californians can experience authentic French cuisine to bring in the New Year without having to fight the crowds on the Champs-Elysées. The New Year’s Eve menu will be served from 5 to 9 pm.
The introduction of Chef de Cuisine Ben Amerling coincides with a recently completed renovation at the Del Mar Highland Town Center location. Amerling brings many years of experience to Champagne, with stints at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, Currant American Brasserie, Si Hotel, Crescent Heights Kitchen and Lounge, JSIX and SOHO West Hollywood. He brings a refreshing sensibility to Champagne with his love of charcuterie, dedication to fresh ingredients and sustainability and respect for the traditions of French cuisine.
Paris was recently ranked as one of the Top Ten Spots to Celebrate New Year’s Eve and the entire country has grand celebrations in honor of the close of the year and the beginning of a new one. New Year’s Eve in France is called Saint-Sylvestre, in honor of a pope from the 4th century whose feast day just happens to be December 31. Celebrations in Paris can be rather rowdy, with tourists complaining in recent years on travel sites about the dangers posed by flying Champagne bottles. So, in addition to a fine French meal at a great price with no jet lag, Chef Amerling also promises a more serene celebration.
Offering both modern & traditional French cuisine since 1987, the Del Mar Highlands Town Center location of Champagne French Bakery Café provides customers with a unique experience that emulates the authentic, yet cozy feeling of true café dining in France. With the menu priced at forty-five dollars per person (wine pairings are available), he expects that reservations will be required. The Café’s street address is 12955 El Camino Real, Del Mar, Ca.
