FitFarms has kept ahead of the competition by simply offering a better service and a more rounded, individual programme to the 4000 and more clients who have attended the Fitfarms’ weight loss and fitness retreat since it opened 6 years ago down at the luxurious boot camp in Devonshire.

FitFarms does not adopt a fitness boot camp training programme. Instead of a vigorous exercise and weight loss programme accompanied by a calorie cutting diet, the Fitfarms weight loss retreat differs by not only offering the best in nutrition and exercise but also behaviour therapy. The life coaching programme is delivered by the Course Director and Motivation Coach Gillie Sutherland.
Gillie is not completely new to boot camp scene as she was head of fitness at a retreat which is also based in Devon. Gillie says "I was first introduced to these styles of fitness and weight loss programmes back in 2007. The fitness camp where I was based before only had nutrition and exercise. When I found that FitFarms was more interested in the behaviour of their guest and why guest had put on the weight in just made more sense. Being a life coach myself I new I would add alot to this side of the programme and we started working together in 2008. There's a few simple parts of the programme where I have made little changes which has created large improvements. The old system was very personal training driven and the programme suffered because of this. Bells were being run and guest were marched into the exercise programme. That fitness retreat style of programme has all changed and now people take more responsibility for themselves which helps create long term change.
The weight loss retreat concentrates on attendee’s relationships with exercise and nutrition creating a healthier balance between the two different areas. Men and Women sometimes come to the weight loss retreat with a negative attitude towards healthy living and are wishing to make some radical changes in a short period of time.
In addition to the nutrition and fitness programme, the holistic weight loss boot camp also include a 3 month after care weight loss and fitness programme, guiding and helping all the clients to stay on track. Whilst on the week’s course there will be one to one consultations and a post course programme is developed that fits into a lifestyle to follow at home. Fitfarms also follows up by giving a free life coaching service to make clients stick to their new healthy lifestyles and maintain the weight loss and fitness results.
Fitfarms courses are run by industry leaders staff , making the week fun but challenging. The clients bond and motivate each other, whilst learning how to achieve and maintain a new lifestyle.
