This is good news for New Jersey CPAs who don’t have the time or budget to attend live seminars or conferences.

Most CPAs are required to take continuing professional education (CPE) in order to renew their licenses. Each governing state board has different requirements for what that education needs to be in terms of number of hours and subject matter.
In New Jersey, in addition to the requirements for 72 technical hours, 24 accounting and auditing hours and ethics, CPAs also have a special mandate to attend some of their CPE “live.” Specifically, as of January 2009, the New Jersey Board of Accountancy stipulated that 60 of the 120 hours of CPE required each triennial renewal cycle be didactic.
Didactic instruction means in-person instruction and may include interactive telephonic or electronic instruction. Because CPE Link’s live webcast format features a live instructor interacting with participants and answering questions throughout the program, it qualifies as didactic.
This is good news for New Jersey CPAs who don’t have the time or budget to attend live seminars or conferences. Live webcasts are an economical way to fulfill this requirement. CPE Link has already trained over 600 NJ CPAs and looks forward to even more participation in 2012 and beyond.
CPE Link is a provider of online CPE for CPAs, EAs, CMAs, CFPs and other financial professionals. Practitioners can choose from a broad curriculum of 400 live webcasts every year and over 700 hours of online self-study. CPE Link is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
CPE Link’s New Jersey Sponsor Number is 20CE00223800.
