Cappuccine Announces Winners of Its 2011 Ultimate Frappe Recipe Contest - Baristas From Across the U.S. Submitted Entries

Cappuccine, a pioneer and innovator in the gourmet beverage market and an award-winning frappe mix manufacturer, today announced the top three winners from its inaugural national Ultimate Frappe Recipe Contest.

Launched on National Frappe Day, Cappuccine challenged baristas from across the U.S. to submit their tastiest frappe recipes.First place honors and a $1,000 prizewas awarded to Jenna Holmes, of Kalispell, Mont., for her Cake Batter Frappe, a creamy vanilla frappe with bits of colorful sprinkles, topped with whipped cream and more sprinkles. A $750prize and second place honors went to Jarad Ryan, of Upland, Calif., for his Turkish Coffee Frappe, a bold, yet creamy espresso frappe with a hint of cardamom and citrus. Mary Marlow Leverette of Wichita, Kan., won third prize and $500 her Viennese Chocolate Frappe, a rich chocolate frappe paired with orange and a hint of cinnamon, topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon.

“Cappuccine would like to thank all those who entered and especially these three baristas for their unique and creative recipes, which we found to be exceptionally delicious,” said Michael Rubin, CEO and founder of Cappuccine. “Consumers can view these recipes on our web site, as well as via our Facebook page; and we look forward to continuing to cultivate a catalog of new and innovative recipes for consumers to enjoy.”

Additional honorable mentions whose recipes have been selected to be highlighted on Cappuccine’s website, include the: Peanut Butter Frappe, Strawberry Shortcake, Carrot Cake, Green Apple Pistachio Pie, Campfire S’Mores, Chocolate Cherry Blossom and Peanut Butter n Chocolate.

The contest, launched October 7, was overseen by an esteemed panel of judges, including professional baristas and international trainers Sherri Johns and Danny Johns of WholeCup Coffee Consulting, LLC,and Ultimate Barista Challenge®, and Klatch Coffee’s director of training and consulting, Heather Perry.

“It was very difficult to narrow the list of submissions down to the top three,” said Sherri Johns of WholeCup Coffee Consulting, LLC. “It was exciting to be a part of the inaugural contest and we look forward to participating again.”
