“We’re excited to have Dr. Thalheimer as a major participant in the ILU Conference and Symposium. I know those in attendance will learn a great deal from his vast knowledge and experience in the e-Learning and simulation arena.” says Dennis Rees, Nexlearn President.

Dr. Thalheimer will present, “Simulations that Work: What the Research Says.” This keynote will focus on maximizing simulation effectiveness through well-designed simulations based on a deep understanding of how people learn. Dr. Thalheimer will review learning research as it relates to simulation-based learning. He will explain how examining fundamental learning research enables immersive learning professionals to distill the causal factors that make simulations work. He will also discuss how to avoid the most common mistakes in simulation design and how to reconfigure instructional-design processes to create more powerful learning interventions and learning-measurement systems.

Dr. Thalheimer will also conduct a breakout session, "Situation-Based Learning Design: Using the SEDA Model to Maximize Simulation Effectiveness." In this session, Dr. Thalheimer will explain how learning interventions produce more potent results if learning occurs in situation-based scenarios.
