"Given the rapid proliferation of distribution modes in the entertainment business, I believe Savtira is strategically placed to provide a vibrant, cloud-based pipeline for a variety of sporting and theatrical-oriented programming," said Richard Dorfman.

Savtira Corporation, a new B2B cloud commerce solutions company, announced today that former NBA (National Basketball Association) executive and radio host, Richard Dorfman, has joined the corporation’s advisory board.

Dorfman served as director of broadcasting for the NBA and was the founder of NBA Entertainment. He was also the host of The Richard Dorfman Show on TalkSuncoast network, WWPR 1490 AM in Sarasota, Fla. With nearly three decades in the sports and entertainment industry, Dorfman has represented some of the world’s greatest sporting occasions such as the FIFA Soccer World Cup, Wimbledon, and Rugby World Cup for worldwide television distribution. He has also served as a regular contributor to CNN International and CNBC, reporting on major sports related business stories. Dorfman is the founder of SportsPro Advisors, a consultancy specializing in the sale and distribution of high level TV sports rights.

“Mr. Dorfman’s background in licensing rights for highly acclaimed, global sporting events is a knowledge base that is unequaled,” says Savtira CEO, Timothy Roberts. “His counsel on Savtira’s advisory board will be invaluable. Mr. Dorfman’s education and deep understanding of the sports media market will be instrumental in the development of our firm.”

Previously, Dorfman served as senior vice president of KirchSport, Munich, one of Europe’s largest media conglomerates, where he was responsible for the sale of worldwide television and media rights to the FIFA World Cups, raising more than one billion dollars in revenue for the organization. He was also with Mark McCormack’s IMG/TWI, both in New York and London, representing the sale of TV rights to the UK and Easter Europe broadcast markets. He supervised Rugby World Cup’s broadcast activity, including the sale of rights, production and administration. Just this year, Dorfman ran for District 1 Commissioner in Sarasota, narrowly missing a run-off election. He currently serves on the North Trail Redevelopment Alliance.

"Given the rapid proliferation of distribution modes in the entertainment business, I believe Savtira is strategically placed to provide a vibrant, cloud-based pipeline for a variety of sporting and theatrical-oriented programming. I look forward to working with the management team to help develop this exciting opportunity,” says Dorfman.
