Dominion Marine Media, the division of Dominion Enterprises that operates YachtWorld.com, BoatTrader.com and Boats.com, was invited to participate at the Boating Trades Association of Texas Dealers earlier this fall to share its expertise on consumer insights and methods of engaging with prospects.

The presentation, “Marketing in the Digital Age,” was delivered by Kim Rocco, consumer marketing manager for Dominion Marine Media. The presentation featured an overview of the online audience, including where and how these people spend their time online. Dealers were offered new ways to create effective advertising, such as the use of QR codes, that drives business to their dealerships. Rocco also gave examples of effective email and display advertising that engage consumers and drive traffic/click-thru’s to dealers’ websites. Rocco commented, “Dealers are very interested in integrating Facebook into their marketing strategy, so I provided tips for developing a Facebook strategy and page structure.”

The dealer attendees left the session with new ideas and knowledge to share with their staff. “Kim’s presentation to the Boating Trades Association of Texas Dealers was very timely,” said Rod Malone, president, Sail and Ski Center. “Many Texas dealers are in various stages of the transition from traditional marketing to the digital age. Her presentation was very beneficial in helping those dealers understand where they are and what steps they need to take to get to the next level.”

Shortly after Rocco’s participation at the Boating Trade Association of Texas Dealers, Dominion Marine Media (DMM) and Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA) announced a partnership that includes Marine Retail Universities, regional educational dealer conferences to be held around North America. The data and statistics presented at each conference will be pulled from the specific geographic area where the event is held. Attending dealers will receive insights into best practices and strategies on how to capitalize on that information.
