MaXaM Production Group proudly announces the launch of its official website, http://www.maxamgroup.org. The group was created by composer Adam Levowitz to give life to emotionally-driven work that will change the audience and shape the industry.
On the website you will find information about MaXaM Production Group, its founder Adam Levowitz, and news and events centering on the group’s productions. Updated regularly with news, the website will also feature social media connections, show times, and much more.
The first of the MaXaM Group productions is Buddy Drew – The Musical, based on the real life story of Drew Brown III, Buddy Drew – The Musical is a coming-of-age tale about a black kid from Harlem raised by his white, Jewish grandparents in Brighton Beach during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. His black father, Bundini Brown, a street hustler from Harlem and also the corner man for the heavyweight champion of the world Muhammad Ali, married Rhoda Palestine, a nice Jewish girl from Brooklyn who reveled in the sights and sounds of the Harlem nightlife that Bundini reigned over. Growing up with a life as shaky as a yarmulke on an Afro, Buddy Drew must contend with an absentee father who spent the better part of his life fostering the career, affection and respect of his “other” son, Muhammad Ali.
Also in development are the musicals Rasputin and Galactic Cigarettes Present: It's Your World. According to Levowitz, Rasputin chronicles the mysterious and scandalous monk of Russia, Gregory Rasputin, in a production that will uncover the truth behind his death. It is a production full of mystery, scandal, and legend. Galactic Cigarettes Present: It’s Your World is the musical satire of two supposedly moral American’s who become contestants on a 1950s quiz show with a bizarre twist. With the book and lyrics by Paul Eiseman (http://www.harrisonhuntmysteries.com/about/) and music composed in partnership with Adam Levowitz, this musical is set to intrigue the audience and leave a lasting impression.
Adam Levowitz founded maXam Production Group in 2011 playing off of his 20 years of experience as a conductor and composer.
