Play chronicles a Puritan tragedy involving two individuals, Anne and John

From author John Rempel comes a 38-scene play, a Puritan story of tragedy titled Anne Hutchinson and John Winthrop. This book intrepidly chronicles one small event in a momentous change of place, a change very much still underway.

Readers will discover that this play is two stories in one. The first is the tragedy of two people, Anne and John, two people who flourished in America during the decade 1630 to 1640. Oddly, Anne’s life is coincidently entwined with another that took place at almost the same time thousands of miles away.

The second story - foretold in the first - is today’s human story of man finding himself lost and helpless being dragged over the precipice by seemingly irresistible current. Both protagonists are long dead and the first story is done. But the second is just beginning.

Anne Hutchinson and John Winthrop will be featured at the 2012 ALA Midwinter Book Exhibit in Dallas, TX, on January 20-24, 2012.
