Our new outrigger-style wheels now accommodate multi-surface use and our hinged gates help further retain implements... facilities with tighter spaces and heavier traffic can benefit from these added improvements.

AAE (Aluminum Athletic Equipment Co.), manufacturer of top-quality athletic equipment, introduces two new features to the indoor portable weight cage, model PIC-35: 1) optional hinged gates, meeting the 2011-2012 NCAA rule, which can be positioned with the sector line for right and/or left throwers; and 2) outrigger-style wheels that permanently keep the cage raised 1-1/2” off the ground to help facilitate everyday moving of the cage.

“Our new outrigger-style wheels now accommodate multi-surface use and our hinged gates help further retain implements,” commented Adam Driscoll, AAE Product Designer. “While our original cage design serves the needs of most indoor throwing programs, facilities with tighter spaces and heavier traffic can benefit from these added improvements.”

The hinged gates are similar to those found on outdoor hammer cages, but modified for this portable indoor weight cage. The optional set of 5 wheels is ideal for a multi-use indoor facility and allows you to move or store the cage on a whim, especially following an event or practice. This cage can also serve as a storage device - perfect for corralling indoor equipment such as hurdles, pads, standards, etc. and helps cordon off these items in the corner of a facility.

These new options available on the indoor portable weight cage add extra functionality to the original model. The portable indoor weight cage still has the same solid foundation, constructed completely of welded 4" sq. heavy-wall aluminum frames, ideal for the indoor throwing events of shot put and weight throw, and still features the same safety with the heavy-gage, 2-1/2” square double-ply HTPP knotless netting. To improve absorption of any misthrows, the inside of the cage’s frame structure features pre-attached 3/8” thick resilient rubber.

The portable indoor weight cage remains available in the original model or the upgraded model that includes these new features. The hinged gates and outrigger-style wheels can also be purchased separately to enhance an existing portable indoor weight cage. AAE stands by the superior strength and quality exhibited in this cage and it is proudly made in the USA at its manufacturing facility in Royersford, PA.
