The Stanley Security Group is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information in the recent shooting death of a Chicago Police Officer.

The Chicago-based Stanley Security Group (SSG) is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to the Chicago Police Department leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of an off-duty Chicago police officer.

Officer Clifton Lewis, 41, was shot about 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 while trying to stop a robbery at M&M Quick Foods grocery store in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, where he worked as a security guard.

He was an eight-year police department veteran and had just become engaged on Christmas Eve.

A spokesperson for the Stanley Security Group stated: "Current and former police officers are the backbone of SSG, and we want to help ensure that the cowards responsible for this despicable act are arrested and prosecuted. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Officer's family, friends and fellow officers."
