People identify with James' experience because they remember that feeling of being ignored or like they too were just another number.

After being up for only 24 hours, the second in the “Who is Ron Paul” series uploaded to YouTube has received over a quarter-million views and has sent the Revolution PAC video entitled; “The Compassion of Dr. Paul” viral.
The video tells the true story of James Williams and how in the early 1970’s when his wife went into labor, the bi-racial couple experienced prejudiced indifference from several employees at the Freeport hospital with staff going so far as to call the Freeport police after James attempted in vain to get help for his wife from the head nurse. However, when others could or would not act, Dr. Ron Paul literally stepped out of the blue, assessed the situation, and went straight to work, ultimately saving the life of the mother. According to Mr. Williams this aptly demonstrates how Ron Paul is a Doctor first, concerned with helping people, regardless of their situation or membership in any one particular “people-group.”
About James Williams:
Whether demonstrated through his volunteer efforts at his local church or planting his annual community garden so residents may have ready access to fresh produce, Mr. James Williams is a genuine reminder of the type of people who make up the backbone of America. A farmer hailing from South Texas and the great-great grandson of slaves, James Williams, a man who fashions himself as a Democrat, indicates he is far more concerned with the welfare of his fellow man rather than the usual goings on from the self-important political-class of Washington D.C. However, he says he cannot allow a “good” and “honest” man such as Ron Paul to be “blotted-out” by liars and cheats who are motivated solely by their own self-interest.
Penny Langford Freeman, a consultant for the PAC stated, "People identify with James' experience because they remember that feeling of being ignored or like they too were just another number.
Originally offering to help during one of Dr. Paul’s early Congressional campaigns, former staff members reached out to Mr. Williams in 2011 as a way to show a side of Ron Paul who in his own humility never mentions, but which many of his constituents from Texas are intimately acquainted.
