Emergency Reporting Announces New Washington State NFIRS Program

The partnership with Emergency Reporting ensures NFIRS data collection and reporting service will continue in our state.

The Washington Fire Chiefs (WFC) and Emergency Reporting announce a partnership for new NFIRS data collection and reporting services for Washington State starting July 1, 2011.

The partnership replaces the work historically performed by the Washington State Fire Marshal's office, which recently announced the removal of the NFIRS program due to state budget cuts.

According to WFC Executive Director Mike Brown, "The partnership with Emergency Reporting ensures NFIRS data collection and reporting services will continue in our state. Brown states, "NFIRS data is essential for the management of personnel, fire prevention measures, risk assessment, public safety trends analysis, general budgeting and other key functions of the fire service."

"The new NFIRS program delivers the first response community with real-time access to data, powerful reporting tools and data integration with other tools essential for daily operations."

There is no cost to the agency to submit data to the NFIRS system. However, a monthly service fee will apply if the agency utilizes any of the records management packages offered by Emergency Reporting.
