We are happy to have a high degree of proficiency with a .NET-based CMS such as Umbraco as it allows us to extend our large-scale CMS domain expertise to clients who have standardized on the Microsoft .NET development platform.
Chicago, IL (Vocus/PRWEB) February 02, 2011
CityTech, Inc., a technology consultancy specializing in the architecture and integration of enterprise solutions, recently released its latest technology case study, Building a Green Sustainability Portal Using Umbraco Open Source CMS.
This case study shares the details of a project undertaken by CityTech, Inc. and its design partner, Hoffman York, to build a portal for a non-profit dedicated to giving small and midsized businesses resources to be more “green” and sustainable. CityTech used Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and the open source content management system (CMS) Umbraco as the founding architecture for the solution. CityTech made creative use of open source technology and gave the organization greater flexibility and control over their website content without depending on IT resources.
"This was a great project for our .NET development practice, requiring us to blend a full-fledged transactional web application based on the Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework with Umbraco, a .NET-based open source CMS system. We are happy to have a high degree of proficiency with a .NET-based CMS such as Umbraco as it allows us to extend our large-scale CMS domain expertise to clients who have standardized on the Microsoft .NET development platform," says Matt Van Bergen, CityTech's CTO.
CityTech’s expertise with the Microsoft .NET platform and its proven skill in implementing large-scale web content management systems were instrumental in creating a successful web portal. This website served as the centerpiece of a two-day presentation by the non-profit to introduce their new organization to users and investors.
