CPAexcel, a global provider of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam study courses is pleased to announce its dynamic new partnership with the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA). This professional partnership will advance the education of women in accounting and finance for years to come.

The American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) was formed in 1938 to increase opportunities for women in accounting and finance.

Today, women have substantially increased their presence professionally in the accounting field: over half of the accounting graduates in the U.S. are women.

“The AWSA provides an important central location for mentoring and networking, critical to achieving the goals of women in accounting and finance,” said Professor Claire Latham, a CPAexcel professor-mentor on the faculty of Washington State University’s accounting department. “I encourage students entering the profession to join.”

ASWA members include women who are partners in national, regional or local CPA firms, financial officers, controllers, academicians, financial analysts, data processing consultants, recent college graduates, and women returning to the work force. American Society of Women Accountants is still the only organization that solely represents the interest of women in the entire accounting and finance community.

Becoming a CPA increases a woman’s career opportunities, allows her to rise into management, offers her a substantially higher salary, and increases her career security.

However, the CPA Exam is one of the most rigorous of the professional examinations with the majority of those who take it, failing the exam. This is where CPAexcel enters. Since 1998, CPAexcel has established a proven track record of being able to prepare people to pass the CPA Exam. In fact, 87% of CPAexcel’s alumni have passed the CPA Exam—which is nearly twice the national average!

By partnering with ASWA, CPAexcel will provide five complete course scholarships, and offer significant member discounts which will facilitate ASWA members becoming licensed CPAs. CPAexcel feels that it is imperative to support the education of women in accounting and finance.

“The American Society of Women Accountants is pleased to begin working closely with CPAexcel, which provides tools and education to prepare for the CPA Exam,” said Vivian Moller, ASWA 2010-2011 National President. “With access to CPAexcel’s video, online, and printed resources, ASWA members will stay poised to take their careers to the next level.”

Further, CPAexcel will provide ASWA members with access to continuing professional education, which is necessary to maintain one’s state CPA license.

CPAexcel will be an active participant at ASWA Executive Leadership Council in February and the national conference in October.
