As CARF’s only online provider of addiction treatment services, the three-year accreditation is a strong and positive reflection of our commitment to excellent care
Cupertino, CA (PRWEB) February 02, 2011
CARF International accrediting body (previously known as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) has announced that eGetgoing, an online substance abuse treatment program staffed by certified addiction counselors and a division of CRC Health Group, has again been accredited for a period of three years. eGetgoing is the first and only online alcohol and drug treatment program to earn CARF accreditation.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows eGetgoing’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
“We are very proud of eGetgoing’s achievement of CARF accreditation,” said Alden Romney, VP of Strategic Planning for CRC Health Group. “As CARF’s only online provider of addiction treatment services, the three-year accreditation is a strong and positive reflection of our commitment to excellent care.”
The CARF accrediting officials found strengths in several areas of eGetgoing’s operations, including “staff members [who] are enthusiastic in the provision of services” and “interface… [that] enhances the opportunity to communicate essential information for persons served.” They noted that eGetgoing’s unique evaluation and symptom monitoring techniques have been found “empirically to improve outcomes in treatment” and “ongoing encouragement” for individuals. Further, they stated “eGetgoing demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing and delivering quality services by implementing evidence-based programming.”
CARF officials also took heed of one of eGetgoing’s critical success factors, stating “The eGetgoing web-based approach provides access to individuals who are bound by transportation or emotional barriers or are waiting for alternative programs, whereas traditional service delivery models do not serve this particular niche well.”
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
