The Chun Bu Kyung

The Chun Bu Kyung is a spiritual map. It contains the principles that govern being, creation, evolution, completion and the divine human nature.

Throughout the month of February, body-mind-spirit educator and Korea native Ilchi Lee will publish a blog series about the ancient Korean text known as the Chun Bu Kyung. The Chun Bu Kyung is an 81-character numerical description stating that all life was derived from one creative source, to which it eventually returns. This text reflects the essence of Lee’s teachings and philosophy, which is rooted in the belief that ki energy can heal and bring peace to individuals, society and the earth.

Ilchi Lee’s blog entries, which will be available for reading on http://www.ilchi.com, will explore the history, meaning and application of the Chun Bu Kyung. They will also explain the message behind certain characters, introduce key phrases and offer advice about how to incorporate the teachings of the Chun Bu Kyung, as they apply to peace and energy, into everyday life.

“Everything in the universe came from one source and is divided into the spiritual, material and energetic,” Lee says of the script’s core message. “Its wisdom has application in everyday life. It can help us achieve inner growth and guide us toward outer purpose and expression. It can return us to oneness with the universe and bring more meaning, peace and energy into our lives.”

The Chun Bu Kyung is the oldest scripture of the Korean people and pre-dates the introduction of Taoism, Buddhism and other forms of spirituality and religion. It tells how all life grows, evolves and reproduces until it returns to its source—oneness, which is comprised of the orders of heaven, earth and human. Before falling into obscurity, Lee says the script was an integral part of Korean society, adopted by several dynasties of Korean rulers and taught to the Korean population.

According to Ilchi Lee, the 81 letters of the Chun Bu Kyung provide answers to some of humanities most enduring questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? What is the purpose of my life?

“The Chun Bu Kyung is a spiritual map,” Lee says. “It contains the principles that govern being, creation, evolution, completion and the divine human nature. It is transferred not through knowledge but rather through the energy of its characters. When you know ki energy, you will understand the meaning of its message, and you will find peace in your life and bring peace to others.”

Lee’s blog series will feature one new post every weekday throughout the month of February.
