Lumenis Ltd., a global developer, manufacturer and seller of laser, light-based and devices for surgical, aesthetic, and ophthalmic applications today announced that it will reveal a preview of the AcuPulse Fractional CO2 laser’s new MultiMode™ technology. The company also announced the schedule of physician presentations taking place at the 69th Annual American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meeting in New Orleans.

The AcuPulse fractional CO2 laser was released in October of 2009 and is a mid-level version of the highly acclaimed UltraPulse Fractional CO2 laser system. AcuPulse is designed for physicians looking to offer a wide range of cosmetic laser procedures, with the ability to upgrade to full surgical capabilities in the future. The Company will preview AcuPulse’s new, patented MultiMode scanning treatment, which will allow fractional treatments of both deep and superficial structures with a single-point button touch. This unique feature will broaden the capabilities of the system and allow both modalities in combination in one easy to use device.

“The new AcuPulse with Multimode capabilities is an exciting new development in ablative fractional therapy because it allows both superficial and deep fractional treatments using a single hand piece and an exceptionally easy computer interface,” said Michael H. Gold, MD, Medical Director, Gold Skin Care Center. “Initial results show high patient satisfaction for treatment of photodamage, dyschromias and scars."
