Fantasy Football Starters places in the top 3 among NFL football expert predictions from across the nation. More than 20 members of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association participated in the 2010 rankings challenge.

Fantasy Football Starters announced today that the company’s Power Analyzer earned a finalist award from the Fantasy Sports Trade Association for the accuracy of its 2010 fantasy football projections. The contest, held in conjunction with Fantasy Football Librarian and The Most Credible, analyzed fantasy football projections and position rankings from more than 20 competing fantasy websites. The pre-season projections and position rankings were compared with actual player statistics tallied at the end of the 2010 NFL regular season.

When the dust settled, awards were presented based on the accuracy of those predictions, and Fantasy Football Starters earned a top 3 ranking for its fantasy football projections. The company’s CEO, Jeff Coruccini, accepted the award during the FSTA convention in Las Vegas last week.

“I’m honored and humbled to be counted among such great competitors in accepting this award on behalf of Fantasy Football Starters,” said Coruccini. “It’s a testament to our fantasy draft software, which really shined even when pitted against some of the best minds in fantasy football.”

Other awards presented at the ceremony were best 2010 fantasy football ranking results, and best 2010 fantasy baseball projections results. In all, more than 60 organizations took part in the competition, including heavy hitters such as Sports Illustrated, and FOX Sports.

“From a fantasy predictions standpoint, this was one of the toughest years I can remember in my nearly 20 years as an NFL analyst,” said Russ Bliss, the voice of a weekly fantasy football radio show in Phoenix since 1997. “No fantasy projections are ever perfect, but the Power Analyzer called a lot more right than it did wrong.”

For example, Fantasy Football Starters projections for Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner were off by just two yards and a single touchdown. The Power Analyzer predicted Turner would finish the 2010 season with 1,373 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. In fact, by the end of the NFL regular season Turner posted 1,371 yards on the ground, and he found the end zone 12 times.

“That type of accuracy is really astounding when you think about it,” says Bliss. “We are talking about projecting a 16-game season and taking into account opposing defenses, number of touches, injuries and myriad other factors that come into play. The Power Analyzer proved it is one of the best fantasy tools available”

The Fantasy Football Starters website – – strives to deliver accurate fantasy football cheat sheets and enhanced statistical data that is already helping determine 2011 fantasy football rankings based on individual scoring systems.
