Durham, NC & Belfast, Northern Ireland (Vocus/PRWEB) February 04, 2011
AlphaMed Press is pleased to announce the launch of The Oncologist European Edition from the European headquarters, AlphaMed Europe, Ltd., Belfast, Northern Ireland. In addition to the same respected articles and reviews traditionally published in The Oncologist, the European Edition will also feature European announcements, products and tailored services.
As the premier independent oncology journal at the intersection of research and clinical practice, The Oncologist is designed specifically for the busy practitioner, focusing on medical and practice issues for physicians entrusted with cancer patient care. With emphasis on clear, concise interpretation, rather than only data, the Journal's peer-accepted articles impact the practice of oncology and facilitate the introduction and application of new medical advances.
The European Edition is led by Editors Patrick G. Johnston, MD, PhD and H.M. Pinedo, MD, PhD. Professor Johnston is the Dean of the School of Medicine & Dentistry and Director of the Institute of Health Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast. He has led the development of many international research collaborations, including the creation of the NCI–All Ireland Cancer Consortium. Professor H.M. Pinedo is the chairman of the Board at the Cancer Center Amsterdam, Free University of Amsterdam. He is also a member of the British Royal Society of Medicine and The Royal Dutch Academy of Science and Arts, where he is Chairman of the Board of the Medical Division.
The Editors emphasize meaningful reviews and state of the art papers, but are also interested in original work that has relevance and impact on practice of oncology. The goal of both editions is to keep pace with programs at the clinical frontier and to foster the best cancer patient care and practice management.
