Cresswind at Lake Lanier Begins Construction on 36,000 Square Foot Clubhouse

The Kolter Group, developer of Cresswind at Lake Lanier, a resort-inspired, waterfront active adult community adjacent to Lake Lanier announced today that it has begun construction on a 36,000 square foot clubhouse and amenity center that is estimated to cost more than $8 million.

The Kolter Group, developer of Cresswind at Lake Lanier, a resort-inspired, waterfront active adult community adjacent to Lake Lanier announced today that it has begun construction on a 36,000 square foot clubhouse and amenity center that is estimated to cost more than $8 million. The premier 55 plus community also announced that it has sold 32 homes since its grand opening on April 17, 2010.

The Kolter Group, LLC, a West Palm Beach private investment firm focused on luxury masterplanned development re-launched the premier, gated community in Gainesville, Ga., after purchasing it out of bankruptcy in early 2010. Plans to build the clubhouse and amenity center were announced in October 2010.

The clubhouse, which will overlook Lake Lanier, will include a heated indoor junior Olympic-sized pool, billiards room, demonstration kitchen, grand ballroom, arts and crafts room, library and extensive fitness center. Outdoors, the amenity area will feature a zero-entry lagoon-style pool, full marina with courtesy deck, kayak launch area, six tennis courts, horseshoe pits, pickle ball and bocce ball courts as well as an outside cabana bar that overlooks Lake Lanier.

A full-time activities director is also on-site to help coordinate numerous events and activities throughout the year including seasonal parties, dancing and educational classes.

In addition to the clubhouse and amenity center, Cresswind residents can also take advantage of Cresswind Landing, the community’s marina which includes 60 slips with private-use permits. This is a unique opportunity for homeowners as limited new dock permits are being issued on Lake Lanier by the Army Corp. of Engineers.

To get to the community from Atlanta on I-85: Take I-985 (365 N) to Exit 16. Turn left onto Mundy Mill Rd. (Rt. 53 West). Go 2.5 miles. Turn right onto McEver Rd. (Rt. 53 North).
