The Miracle League of DFW has been singled out as one of the more than 1,100 BB&T Lighthouse Projects that resulted in the bank receiving the “Leadership in Community Service Award” by the Financial Services Roundtable (FSR). BB&T will receive the award during ceremonies at the Doug Inman Miracle League Field on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 10:30 a.m. CT.
BB&T’s Miracle League Lighthouse Project, held in September 2010, had an exceptionally high number of Regional Acceptance Corp. volunteers participating and was voted one of the top five Lighthouse Projects by BB&T employees.
Last year, the Regional Acceptance team organized a Lighthouse Project for the Miracle League at Cowboys Stadium. This event kicked off a six-week series of organized baseball games held by the Miracle League with assistance from BB&T’s Regional Acceptance team.
The Miracle League of Dallas-Fort Worth (http://www.mldfw.org/index.asp) helps special needs children participate in organized team games that they may not have an opportunity to participate in otherwise.
