U.S. Army Retired Brigadier General Rebecca Halstead, a staunch supporter of chiropractic, nutrition, and Standard Process supplements, visited Standard Process’ manufacturing plant and certified organic farm in Palmyra, Wis. on January 17. Following her tour, Halstead spoke to the company’s 282 employees and 39 national sales representatives and distributors about her “Steadfast Leadership” principles.

“To have General Halstead motivate our employees by talking about her own experiences with leadership, and our supplements, was truly extraordinary,” said Charles C. DuBois, president of Standard Process. “By illustrating stories from her life, Halstead reinforced the value of being a team player, whether you are making whole food supplements, or leading a platoon.”

In discussing her own experience with Standard Process supplements, Halstead, the first female graduate from the U.S. Military Academy to achieve the rank of general officer, said she feels the healthiest she has been in 10 years. She thanked the employees for being a part of Standard Process (http://www.standardprocess.com) and reminded them “look up and look forward” to their own goals and the goals of the company.

Halstead was also the first female in U.S. history to command in combat at the strategic level by commanding the highest-level organization for logistics (3rd Corps Support Command) in the combat theater of Iraq. Most important during her speech to the employees, she encouraged them “to be steadfast leaders, to trust and respect each other, and remember to thank co-workers for all that they do.”

DuBois has had the opportunity to work with Halstead through their mutual involvement with the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (http://www.foundation4cp.com).
