Ahead of the Class: A Webinar Series for Leaders in Education

This 60-minute webinar will share best practices from experienced educators who have become skilled in identifying resources, developing tools, overcoming obstacles and monitoring the effectiveness of their programs.

Imagine Learning, developer of the award-winning language and literacy software program Imagine Learning English, today announced its sponsorship of Ahead of the Class: A Webinar Series for Leaders in Education. The free webinar series, which provides expert instruction on current best practices for leaders in education, will kick off on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, with a webinar on effective Response to Intervention strategies from Imagine Learning’s own education expert Clydie Wakefield.

“Response to Intervention is an increasingly popular program that has been proven to be especially effective in identifying those students who have the greatest needs,” said Wakefield. “But it can be demanding and difficult for schools to implement effectively,” she added.

While most leaders in education are familiar with the Response to Intervention model, which targets individual student learning needs through three levels of instruction, Wakefield has found that many schools have great difficulty finding resources to implement the program effectively.

Wakefield surveyed principals who effectively use Response to Intervention programs at their schools and plans to share key characteristics of successful Response to Intervention implementations in the webinar.

“There is still a great need for practical instruction on successfully implementing Response to Intervention programs given the resources that schools have available to them,” said Wakefield. “This 60-minute webinar will share best practices from experienced educators who have become skilled in identifying resources, developing tools, overcoming obstacles and monitoring the effectiveness of their programs.”

This is the first of six free webinars in the series. Space is limited, so educators who wish to attend are encouraged to register early at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/186251030.
