Foremost Insurance recently launched an insurance agency-targeted media initiative featuring “The Foremost Insurance Guy,” and Insurance Journal’s Peter van Aartrijk and Rick Morgan talk with the Insurance Guy in a recent podcast about the real personality behind the campaign.

“I’ve often said the insurance industry doesn’t have much personality, but the Foremost Insurance Guy does,” comments Morgan.

Jeff Bair, the real Foremost Insurance Guy, is also the Executive Director of Strategic Marketing with the Foremost Insurance Group. His experience working directly with independent agencies and years of marketing expertise with the Company has contributed to the success of the media campaign. The podcast reveals how Bair got started in the industry, what it has been like breaking into the world of YouTube and other social media, and some strategies and deliverables Foremost has underway to give producers an upper hand in the social media space.

“The Foremost Insurance Guy videos are really about providing social media content for producers to use on their own social websites,” says Bair. “We found that a lot of agencies get started in social media and then don’t know what to do with it, so we’re leveraging that opportunity by providing content for agencies to use.”

“The videos are a fun way to share the importance of what a Foremost producer can offer their customers and this open communication can help build retention for their business,” says John Kalinka, Communications Director. “We also just launched the Foremost Social Media Suitcase for our producers that offers more than just videos. It’s a whole online section that we make available to our producers to help them interact in the social media space. It includes everything from why they should use social media, to step-by-step instructions, to content that is formatted specifically for posts, tweets and links.”
