Wastequip has introduced two Galbreath Loaded Container Handlers (LCH) to tour the country as part of its ongoing dealer demonstration program. The trucks are designed for dealers to promote the new loaded container handler while providing hands-on customer demonstrations of the unit’s safety features.

The new units are ideal to show the operation as well as the safety and stability of Galbreath’s Loaded Container Handler versus the competition. Other container handler manufacturers have the container center of gravity behind the rear axle. Also, the container sits up higher and further behind the cab than the Galbreath container handler.

Unlike its competitors, the Galbreath LCH’s center of gravity sits in front of the rear axles and transfers more than 25 percent of the weight to the front steering axles. The combination of improved weight distribution and the ability to have the container sit level on the chassis assures smooth, efficient and safe transport of loaded containers up to 8,000 pounds, even at highway speeds.

“The purpose of these demo units is to show customers that our Loaded Container Handler is fully DOT compliant when used with 1 yard to 10 yard frontload containers and 1 yard to 6 yard rear load containers without having to add marker flags or auxiliary light bars to make it safe and legal for highway use,” said Don Clouser, mobile equipment product manager. “This will save customers time and money.”

“With these demo units customers can see for themselves that the Loaded Container Handler provides legal overhang for containers, assuring that rear lights are visible and eliminating the requirement for an Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) bumper,” Clouser said.

Customers will also have the opportunity to operate the in-cab joystick, which allows for easy stacking and dumping of containers. Wastequip’s Galbreath brand LCH is designed for a minimum chassis GVWR of 25,900 pounds allowing for operation with non-CDL drivers.
