Miami (Vocus/PRWEB) February 15, 2011
The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) selected Tracy Quan as one of the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing” for 2010. The eighth annual list, which recognizes the “best of the best” in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries, honored recipients during a private ceremony preceding the Adrian Awards Gala on January 31, 2011, at the New York Marriott Marquis, and also recognized them at the Adrian Reception and Gala.
The 2010 “Top 25” recipients were judged by a panel of senior industry executives for their recent work based on the following criteria: creativity and innovation; cutting edge sales or marketing campaigns; triumph in challenging situations; and sales efforts that resulted in dramatic gains.
“The Top 25 is a 'hot list' that celebrates the sales and marketing leaders and innovators of our industry,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “The creative strategies, passionate dedication and sharp intelligence of these professionals have not only made a difference within their organizations but have also truly raised the bar for the hospitality industry as a whole.”
In addition to being recognized as a “Top 25” recipient, Quan accepted a Platinum award at last week’s ceremony – the highest honor at the premiere awards event – for the collaborative work with public relations agency Weber Shandwick in 2009 for the launch of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest and most revolutionary cruise ship. The publicity surrounding the debut of Oasis of the Seas achieved over three billion impressions globally and according to Royal Caribbean International’s President and CEO, Adam Goldstein was ‘the PR coup of the decade.” Additionally, Royal Caribbean received a Gold award for the feature television placement “GMA’s Biggest Getaway,” also onboard Oasis, and a Silver award for Royal Caribbean’s crisis communication Haiti response program.
Tracy Quan joined Royal Caribbean International as Director, Brand Communications in 2005 and has the responsibility for the strategic direction of the global cruise brand's communications and public relations activities. In addition, Quan oversees communications for the company’s Azamara Club Cruises brand, a destination-immersive cruise line for up market travelers. Prior to joining the Royal Caribbean, Quan was Executive Director, Corporate Communications for Kerzner International, owners and operators of casino, resorts and luxury hotels around the world.
