Molded Fiber Glass Companies, a distinguished international composites manufacturer, announced that the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) recognized President and CEO Richard Morrison with the organization’s Lifetime Achievement award for his long-standing industry and association leadership. The Lifetime Achievement award distinguishes individuals who have been involved in the composites industry for at least 20 years and made a significant and lasting contribution.

“The Lifetime Achievement award is the most prestigious award ACMA presents at its annual convention”, stated Gary Multanen, CEO of Best Bath Systems and chairman of the ACMA awards committee. “Richard Morrison exemplifies the type of person who is dedicated to his industry, his employees, our national association and the communities where his company conducts business. He joins a group of 12 previous awardees who, as a collective group, set the barrier of entry for awardees in the future”.

The award was presented on February 4, during the COMPOSITES 2011 Convention and Exhibition in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

This year’s selection of Richard Morrison had special significance in light of the fact that the ACMA’s first Lifetime Achievement award was given in 1998 to his father, the late Robert S. Morrison, founder of Molded Fiber Glass Companies.

Cited as some of Richard Morrison’s notable contribution included leadership throughout his career to the industry’s trade associations including serving on the ACMA board of directors from 2003-2007, including as president from 2003-2005. In 2009 he received the ACMA’s President’s award.

Richard Morrison began his composites career in 1968 as a production manager for the Molded Fiber Glass Boat Company. In 1970, he was promoted to president and general manager. In 1979, he was assigned to the Molded Fiber Glass Tray Company in Linesville PA, serving as its president and general manager. Since 1987, he has served as president and CEO of the Molded Fiber Glass Companies, an internationally recognized leader in composites manufacturing. Mr. Morrison is an alumnus of Stanford University.
