I compared the steel building to a wooden pole barn and the steel building was cheaper. It went up in a few days and everything is exactly as I wanted it.
Pittsburgh, PA (Vocus/PRWEB) February 18, 2011
Howard Boarts, owner of Boarts’ Black Angus Farm in Ford City, Pennsylvania purchased a pre-engineered Olympia Steel Buildings® System from Universal Steel Buildings Corp. and contracted with the company to have the building erected on his property to replace the wooden pole barn feed lot building that had collapsed from the heavy weight of snow during the February blizzard of 2010.
“A snow storm collapsed my feed lot building in February of 2010,” Mr. Boarts explained. “I talked to Universal Steel Buildings and they gave me a great price. I compared the steel building to a wooden pole barn and the steel building was cheaper. It went up in a few days and everything is exactly as I wanted it.”
Universal Steel Buildings worked quickly to help Boarts get the new building designed, engineered, fabricated and into service. Construction of the pre-engineered metal building took less than two weeks by a three-man crew from start to finish. The attractive thirty-six hundred square foot Olympia Steel Buildings® pre-engineered metal building has polar white sheeting and rural red trim and roof with one side completely open. The building is designed to provide a feeding area and give limited shelter from the elements to Boarts’ Black Angus cattle herd, the open side making it completely accessible to his cows. The metal building is erected on 4’ stem walls to protect it from the livestock. Rigid steel beams support the structure as its primary framing coated with an attractive gray oxide primer. The frames are a solid steel plate design and the flanges are solid steel bar stock. The steel secondary framing of girts and purlins won’t warp or bend and have a zinc galvanized coating applied at the mill that will not rust. The metal buildings pitched roof sheds water and snow while gutters and down spouts route the moisture away from the feeding area.
The new pre-engineered steel building is designed and engineered to function perfectly through cold, snowy Pennsylvania winters and Mr. Boarts and his cattle are very satisfied customers. “It is just what the owner ordered. This steel building is rugged enough to handle the heavy use of the Boarts’ herd as well as hold up under brutal weather conditions,” stated John Reardon of Universal Steel Buildings Corp., senior estimator and building design consultant who sold the building to Boarts and helped him get everything he wanted and needed in this beautiful and functional steel building. “Mr. Boarts was so pleased with his building that he has referred Olympia Steel Buildings to his fellow farmers in Ford City. I love it when I am able to help someone get the building they need and I love making my customers happy!”
Boarts Farm is located in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in the borough of Ford City. Ford City, founded in 1887 as a company town by Pittsburgh Plate Glass (now PPG Industries), has a population of about 3,500 residents.
