We envisioned an elegant and modern hippie chick with a strong style all her own.
Manhasset, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) February 21, 2011
This month Americana Manhasset debuts its groovy 56-page Spring Fashion Book, shot entirely in Malibu. Spring ready-to-wear, accessories and jewelry from the most luxurious brands in the world are captured in a hip and stylish picture book.
The images are also featured front and center on Americana’s website, americanamanhasset.com. In conjunction with the still images, Americana Manhasset has debuted on its website a two-minute cinematic short film, also entitled L.A. Boheme. Lush and sensual, the piece is set to hypnotic music and epitomizes the vibe of the season.
The campaign, photographed, produced and styled by Laspata/DeCaro, stars top editorial models Frida Gustavsson and Marius Hordijk. It has a decidedly informal and unstructured look, with Americana’s boho-chic couple frolicking and lounging in the heather-filled California hills overlooking the sea. Moroccan furnishings lend an exotic element, while gigantic magic mushrooms and a hippie van add some psychedelically inspired fun to the sophisticated imagery.
"The relaxed, ‘70s inspired looks prevalent on the runways provided us with inspiration for Americana Manhasset's Spring Book,” said Charles DeCaro. “We envisioned an elegant and modern hippie chick with a strong style all her own; we chose different settings depending on each look, allowing the fashion and respective designers' messages to stand out." From Chanel and Gucci to Tory Burch and Theory, each brand enjoys a distinctive image that also works as part of the whole.
The lookbook is direct-mailed to 130,000 targeted households. The print campaign will also appear in the Women’s Spring Fashion issue of The New York Times T-Style Magazine. The images and video will appear in a month-long digital campaign on vanityfair.com.
