You just can't beat traditional flowers to express love on Valentine's Day
(Vocus/PRWEB) February 21, 2011
Online flower delivery company daFlores.com saw a huge increase in Facebook likes over the Valentine's Day weekend. Over the weekend and on Valentine's Day proper, the company's popular Facebook page swelled from 150,000 likes, or fans, to over 180,000 – an increase of 20 percent in the space of roughly three days.
DaFlores.com also saw sales skyrocket during this period, in part because of the company's consistent social media efforts. Francisco Bustos, CEO and President of daFlores.com, also puts the Facebook increase down to romance. “You just can't beat traditional flowers to express love on Valentine's Day,” he says. “DaFlores' Facebook page gives loves another outlet. Anyone who says that romance is dead is about as wrong as can be.”
The flower delivery company uses its Facebook page to make announcements and to release special offers. In 2010, daFlores.com launched its first Facebook application, which allows users to send virtual flowers to one another.
“We've been marketing steadily using new technologies,” says Mr. Bustos. “Our strategy is to provide customers as many outlets as possible. If they want to ask us questions on Facebook, they can. Availability, service and quality of products are the cornerstones of daFlores.com.”
