The novel traces Joe Kijipreka’s life journey from university to worklife, first as a teacher and later as an accountant. Here he encounters ethical issues and moral quandaries. He falls in love, marries, and starts a family, but as time passes his life is marked by various tragedies as well as joys, introducing adopted children and a second wife into his life’s story.
Thumbiko Shumba was born on 30 April, 1972 at Hewe, in Rumphi, Malawi. Shumba hails from the northern part of Malawi. He acquired his primary education at Katowo, Bwaila, and Chitipa Primary Schools. Then he acquired his secondary school education at Phwezi and Mzuzu Government Secondary Schools. Shumba did his university education at the Malawi Polytechnic, a constituent of the University of Malawi. He completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and presently he is working as a Principal Accountant in the government of Malawi.
