ScholarshipPoints will award the first of four $10,000 scholarships of the year on March 15th

ScholarshipPoints  (http://www.scholarshippoints.com), an Edvisors online education company, recently announced that its first $10,000 scholarship drawing of 2011 will be held on March 15th. The $10,000 scholarship drawing has become a quarterly staple for ScholarshipPoints. Since the program started in 2006, 10 students have received a $10,000 scholarship award. To ensure funds are used for educational purposes, awards are sent directly to the student’s financial aid office.

With the cost of college rising every year, ScholarshipPoints aims to help high school and college students pay for college and finish their degrees. In addition to quarterly $10,000 scholarship drawings, ScholarshipPoints awards a number of $500, $1,000 and $2,500 scholarships every month. In 2010 a total of $123,500 was awarded to 81 students.

Amanda Peterson, a MBA student at Baker University, was just one of the many ScholarshipPoints scholarship winners in 2010. Like many students, the scholarship made it easier for her to focus on her studies without financial distractions. “A great weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I now no longer have to try to figure out how to make the financial aid payments at the end of my program,” said Peterson. “I literally had tears in my eyes as I read that I was the scholarship recipient; this couldn’t have come at a better time.”
