Ingram Park Nissan accomplishes environmental goals with an all-electric car

Now is the perfect time to check out Ingram Park Nissan’s all new lineup of environmentally sustainable cars. In 2006, Nissan announced an action plan dubbed the Nissan Green Program 2010. We are just now seeing the fruits of its labor, and the premier Nissan dealer in the San Antonio area stocks these new, green models. The plan was created to adhere to Nissan’s environmental values of “symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature” and assist to a sustainable automobile society.

One of the highlights in Nissan’s Green Program was to launch an all-electric vehicle early in the next decade. Nissan has accomplished this by launching the Nissan LEAF across the nation this year. Nissan’s Chief Operating Officer had this to say, “Nissan Green Program 2010 has been designed to address immediate challenges as well as creating the foundation towards a long-term sustainable business model.” The LEAF fulfills these promises by addressing the immediate oil shortage and providing a new electric vehicle market. The new EVs need charge stations in order to be integrated into mainstream society; this provides an expanding market for Nissan to push into.

Nissan focused on three other core areas: reducing carbon dioxide emissions, reducing exhaust emissions, and accelerating recycling efforts. In order to accommodate the new initiatives, Nissan added carbon dioxide output to its internal management performance indicators. Now carbon dioxide will be evaluated in addition to quality, cost and time. Nissan recently debuted the new Micra at the Geneva Motor Show, which emits only 15g/km of CO2. Nissan’s focus on CO2 emissions has shown new breakthroughs on the subject, which will set new benchmarks for gasoline-fuelled cars.

Nissan also believes electric motors with the power derived from batteries will replace the internal combustion engine. Nissan launched the hybrid Altima sedan in 2007 to show their conviction to the new program. Nissan now has one of the market’s leading hybrid models. Nissan continues to show its dedication to innovative and progressive technologies.

Nissan has been able to meet and surpass their goals, and still further improve on the technologies it founded. Ingram Park Nissan, the premier dealership in San Antonio, stocks many of Nissan’s newest and innovative models, all of them following Nissan’s high standards of quality and environmental friendliness.
