Ride-Away of Tampa has been awarded the coveted BraunAbility Customer 1st Award

The Braun Corporation, the leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles and wheelchair lift systems, recently honored Ride-Away of Tampa with the Customer 1st Award. The award recipients were selected based on customer survey results over the course of 2010. This award is presented to dealers who earned a score of 90% or above on the customer surveys that Braun had received, and the Tampa team received an average score of 94.1%.

Ride-Away of Tampa, the leading provider of wheelchair vans in Tampa, has been delivering freedom to individuals with disabilities since 2006. Ride-Away employees come to work each day dedicated, not only to providing the best wheelchair accessible vehicles, but also committed to enriching the quality of life in their communities. Whether it’s getting involved with a local non-profit organization, running a relay to fight Multiple Sclerosis or joining in a wide range of community activities, that dedication to serve has always been the benchmark for Ride-Away of Tampa and its employees.

“Improving the lives of others and taking an active role in the community is vitally important,” says Ride-Away Vice President, Jaime Kuczewski. “The employees at our Tampa facility know that providing the highest quality mobility products and customer service to our clients is what Ride-Away has consistently been known for, and they don’t just preach it; they live it day in, day out, and I am exceptionally proud that they have received this prestigious award.”

Going the extra mile for a customer is something that the Tampa employees have been well known for. Most recently, Ride-Away presented a gentleman named Jerome Franklin, who was left paralyzed after a severe motorcycle accident 25 years ago, and had battled with addiction and depression for several years after his accident, with a Ford E150 Full-Size wheelchair van that was modified specifically with a wheelchair lift from BraunAbility.

Transportation had always been an issue for Jerome. He has had to rely on friends and co-workers to get him where he needed to go, and he hasn’t been able to enjoy the freedoms he once was able to. When Ride-Away heard about Jerome’s situation, they knew right away that something had to be done. Ride-Away, in continuing their philanthropic ways, was able to get Jerome a wheelchair van and the mobility equipment to fit his needs, so that Jerome can go where he wants, when he wants.

Providing excellent customer service not only requires our Mobility Consultants to meet the needs of Ride-Away’s clients, but it also requires them to provide their clients with the most options for mobility products as well. Ride-Away of Tampa has introduced many new and innovative mobility products over the past year, including the GoShichi Wheelchair Accessible Pick-Up Truck, the Mobility Conquest Wheelchair Accessible Motorcycle, and the most revolutionary driving control products from Guidosimplex. These ground-breaking products have given our clients more options, and more freedom to go where they want to go, when they want to. As the leader in providing the finest mobility equipment options in Tampa, Ride-Away knows that in order to remain at the forefront in the mobility industry, they must continue to offer innovative and ground-breaking products to their clients.

“We believe that our commitment to provide our clients with exceptional service is what separates us from our competition,” says Mark Lore, Ride-Away President/CEO. “Our Tampa location has received hundreds of unsolicited customer testimonials over the years, and this customer feedback is truly what we live for! The commitment and dedication to our customers that our team in Tampa has shown over the years is truly remarkable, and it proves that they all are very deserving of this award.”

BraunAbility has over 200 dealer locations nationwide, and each is staffed with mobility experts who are trained to evaluate the individual needs of customers. Ride-Away of Tampa has been known for its outstanding customer service throughout the years, providing round-the-clock support for their customers with their 24/7 Roadside Assistance Program and will soon be implementing a 24/7 Sales Support Program to better serve the needs of their customers.

“Our customers rely on their dealers to provide a sales and service experience that addresses their unique needs,” says Braun President Nick Gutwein. “These dealers have gone above and beyond in meeting their customers’ needs and building life-long relationships with them.”

The Braun Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps, and wheelchair lift systems. These products enable persons with physical disabilities to regain mobility and lead active and independent lives. The Indiana-based company was founded by Ralph Braun, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age and unable to walk by age 15. Ralph was motivated by his disability to invent the world’s first electric scooter (the Tri-Wheeler) and wheelchair lift (the Lift-A-Way) in his parents’ garage. Word spread and demand for the product increased, resulting in the birth of Save-A-Step Manufacturing, which ultimately became The Braun Corporation. The company, via the BraunAbility brand, offers the most diverse model lineup in the industry, including the most popular minivan models from Dodge, Chrysler, Honda, and Toyota.
