ZCorum announced today at the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) Winter Education Conference in Clearwater, Florida, that ElbertonNET, a cable plant operated by the City of Elberton, Georgia, has renewed their agreement for managed broadband services.

ElbertonNET came to ZCorum in 2000, when the city was ready to launch their Internet service. “We've worked together from the beginning to make sure that the residents of Elberton, Georgia have access to quality broadband services”, said Arthur Skinner, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at ZCorum. “We are pleased that the City of Elberton continues to place their trust in our partnership.”

The City of Elberton, known as the Granite Capital of the World for its production of granite monuments, serves a rural and resort population of about 5,000 residents. ElbertonNET was formed as a branch of the City's utilities department in 1999.

The services that ZCorum provides the City today include hosted email, 24/7 technical support, VoIP, commercial web hosting, plus engineering and consulting services. The agreement also includes ZCorum's TruVizion diagnostics application for cable modem networks, a tool ElbertonNET and ZCorum use to troubleshoot and diagnose customer issues, such as VoIP quality, tracking modem and CMTS performance, and determining whether a truck roll is needed and the level of technician that should be sent out. “TruVizion has been invaluable to ElbertonNET in improving and maintaining peak performance in our cable modem network, as well as reducing our operational costs,” said Lanier Dunn, Elberton's City Manager.

ZCorum is at NCTC's Winter Educational Conference (WEC) today, where Skinner will be giving demonstrations of TruVizion in booth #32. He will also share case studies with WEC attendees detailing the ways other independent cable operators have used TruVizion to reduce truck rolls, reduce troubleshooting time and discover areas for improvement in their networks.
