Allied Van Lines Canada Set To Plant 15,000 Trees in 2011

Renews Silver-Level Sponsorship of Tree Canada

Allied Van Lines Canada Inc., one of the world’s largest moving companies and a subsidiary of SIRVA Inc., is pleased to announce it has renewed its silver-level sponsorship of Tree Canada, a not-for-profit charitable organization established to encourage Canadians to plant and care for trees in urban and rural environments. It has been a silver sponsor since 2009.

As part of its sponsorship, a tree will be planted by Tree Canada for every 3,000 miles driven by Allied Canada. That equates to 15 million miles, or 5,000 trees per year. Allied Canada is providing additional financial support to toward various Tree Canada initiatives. So far, Allied Canada has contributed another $4,500 to help Tree Canada plant 750 more trees on the behalf of its customers.

"We care about fostering green communities throughout the nation, which is why we’re excited about our involvement with Tree Canada," commented Rob Grohn, president of Allied Van Lines, Canada. "The total volume of trees demonstrates Allied Canada’s commitment to helping the environment."
