The Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK benefiting the Children's Cancer Research Fund is April 17 in Los Angeles.

“The Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK and “All Star” Carnival was founded to give the ‘KID’ in all of us a magical, memorable experience while helping kids with cancer,” said Matti Contopulos.

The Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK and “All Star” Carnival benefiting Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) returns to L.A. LIVE on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Presenting Sponsor and Team Owner TOYOTA and Team Manager AEG will lead families and friends in the quest to De“FEET” pediatric cancer. Davis Gaines (Phantom of the Opera) will perform the National Anthem -- a Phantomly, Fantastic beginning for a great event.

“After four very successful years in Century City, then a stellar debut in a new location last year, we are delighted to be invited to return to L.A. LIVE for a second year,” said Matti Contopulos, Founder and President of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

L.A. LIVE is the leading entertainment destination in Los Angeles; a one of a kind entertainment campus which plays host to the GRAMMYs, EMMYs, American Music Awards, ESPYs, the Los Angeles Film Festival and hundreds of other star-studded events.

“L.A. LIVE was created to give guests an unforgettable, quintessentially “L.A.” experience, and the Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK and “All Star” Carnival was founded to give the ‘KID’ in all of us a magical, memorable experience while helping kids with cancer,” said Contopulos. “The goal of this spectacular event is to create a Healthier and Happier future for all children.”

Sports luminaries leading the cause to De“FEET” pediatric cancer through their participation on the Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK National Spokespersons' Team* include: Pau Gasol, Los Angeles Lakers; Landon Donovan, LA Galaxy; Luc Robitaille, President, Business Operations for Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club; three-time Olympic breaststroke medalist Rebecca Soni; Joel Piñeiro, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Dustin Brown, Los Angeles Kings and Noelle Quinn, Los Angeles Sparks. The Kids 4 Kids 5K RUN/WALK empowers participants of all ages to take immediate action to help children with cancer while bringing together friends and family for a fun day of activity and entertainment. Scheduled for Sunday, April 17, the “All Star” Carnival will include finish line entertainment, rides and game booths staffed by celebrities and athletes.

The event will take place at L.A. LIVE (across from STAPLES Center) at Chick Hearn Court (11th and Figueroa) in downtown Los Angeles. Event registration begins at 8:00 a.m. while the Radio Disney “Warm-Up” takes place from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. The race starts at 10:00 a.m. The “All Star” Carnival opens at 10:30 a.m. and the “Yum 4 My Tum” Food Court opens at 11:00 a.m. There will be free parking before 11:00 a.m. in the West Garage/Lot W at 1005 West Chick Hearn Court.

Participants of all ages are encouraged to register in advance at http://www.ccrf-kids.org. Advance registration fees are $10 (under 18) and $25 (18 and over).
