I have been an Expat for ten years and have experienced the strong bond there is between Expats, and I wanted to create an on-line community where they can connect, socialize and share experiences.

“To travel is to live,” wrote Hans Christian Andersen, but even travelers need a place to call home. New social network For Expats By Expats provides Expats with a unique expat forum to connect with other Expats and share their adventures in life outside their home country.

With For Expats By Expats, members connect with local Expats and Expats from around the world. Unlike vacationers, Expats have committed to a life outside their home country, and they intrepidly face the challenges and delights of living abroad. For Expats By Expats is the social network where people interact with others who have made this life choice. Professionals working abroad as part of their careers can connect with others working in their field abroad or in their current country of residence.

Profile pages on For Expats By Expats are tailored to the Expat experience. Members identify their home country and their current country of residence in addition to filling in information about their profession and interests. Members are searchable by country, as well as profession, interests, age and other terms. Members can post blogs and photos, both of which function with Facebook, as well as create and join groups.

Founder Christian Bidstrup says, “I have been an Expat for ten years and have experienced the strong bond there is between Expats, and I wanted to create an on-line community where they can connect, socialize and share experiences.”

As the site grows, Bidstrup plans to offer enhanced mobile technology and corporate networking pages for Expat workers.

For Expats By Expats is free to join and new Expats can join with their Facebook accounts.
