“We need people in Washington who will fight to cut job-killing federal spending and restore economic growth to our nation, not just follow the tired dictates of their Party.

Bill Hudak, http://www.hudakforcongress.com, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District, announced today that he intends to resume his campaign for a seat in the United States Congress in 2012. “After conversations with numerous advisors and campaign volunteers throughout the District, it is clear that my support remains widespread and deep. In fact, since last November I have received hundreds of e-mails and phone calls from supporters urging me to continue the fight,” stated Hudak. “Today, the issues remain the same as when I ran, only now they are more intensified, and the time to fix them has grown shorter.”

“Despite the change in national direction brought about by the 2010 Elections, Massachusetts is still represented exclusively in the House of Representatives by tax and spend liberals who continue to vote the Democratic party line and ignore the economic realities facing our nation,” Hudak said. “With our national debt now exceeding $14.25 Trillion, the unemployment rate stuck at more than 9 percent and economic growth stagnating, not one Massachusetts Representative has offered any leadership,” he concluded. “We need people in Washington who will fight to cut job-killing federal spending and restore economic growth to our nation, not just follow the tired dictates of their Party.”

In 2010, his first bid, Hudak conducted a very strong campaign, and received 107,739 (43.1%) votes. This total was higher than any Republican in the Sixth District since former Congressman Peter Torkildsen, and was the second highest (of 70 opportunities) any Republican received in the entire state during any Congressional election since 1996. Hudak, who was endorsed by United States Senator Scott Brown, former Massachusetts Governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and businessman/publisher and former presidential candidate Steve Forbes, received virtually the same number of votes as Democratic Governor Deval Patrick from the Sixth District during his successful 2010 re-election. Hudak is a Reagan Republican whose campaign was based on the principles of a smaller federal government, reduced spending, lower taxes and free enterprise growth.

“In order to restart the engine of growth in this country, we must reduce the bloated, job crippling federal budget across the board,” said Hudak. “Yesterday, the Government Accountability Office released a report listing dozens of redundant federal programs and inefficient operations which, for failure to take appropriate action, are costing taxpayers tens of billions of dollars annually. We cannot afford to slow our growth and squander our children's future on programs that the government’s own watchdog agency calls ‘ineffective and unfocused.’”

“Federal taxes must be reduced in order to encourage investment in job creating enterprises, large and small. And burdensome and irrational regulations must be reviewed with a goal to eliminating those that impede business growth and innovation. Further, we need to adopt a reality based energy policy that maximizes all of our energy options and enhances our national security, in light of the recent turmoil in the Middle East,” stated Hudak.

“I ran in 2010 because I saw that the country was heading in a direction that would lead to diminished prospects for the next generation,” said Hudak. “This Administration has largely wasted the past two years on programs and policies that have proven to be counterproductive to economic prosperity. We have no more time to waste,” concluded Hudak.
