The Acquia Network is all about providing site owners with the tools they need to build and maintain killer web experiences

Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced they are launching a completely revamped version of the Acquia Network, with a dramatic new user experience, a valuable array of new services from Acquia partners, and the introduction of a draft API specification to provide programmatic access for new service creation.The Acquia Network is at the heart of all of Acquia’s offerings, helping our customers be successful building and maintaining Drupal sites.

“The Acquia Network is all about providing site owners with the tools they need to build and maintain killer web experiences,” said Peter Guagenti, Vice President, Services at Acquia. "Our redesigned Network now lets you further extend site capabilities and provides knowledge and help when needed; making developers and site owners more successful."

The Acquia Network reboot is focused on helping Drupal site owners in three ways:
1.    The Acquia Network provides access to knowledge and training materials;
2.    The Acquia Network offers tools to significantly enhance web experiences;
3.    The Acquia Network is a safety net with help from experienced Drupalists.

Access to Knowledge: One of the best assets available to Acquia Network subscribers is the Acquia Library, a growing collection of how-to’s, tips and tricks, and general knowledge for Drupal developers and site owners. With a knowledge base of more than 500 published articles, the Acquia Library provides quick access to valuable resources based on real world experiences.

Tools to Build Great Web Experiences: Today, the Acquia Network offers subscribers feature-rich cloud services, Acquia Search and Mollom, to cost-effectively extend Drupal sites. The new Acquia Network introduces additional third party services to subscribers from Acquia Technology Partners, as part of their existing subscriptions. New third-party services include New Relic, a PHP site performance monitoring and analysis tool to identify site performance issues; Mobify, a GUI-based mobile interface design suite to create mobile versions of a Drupal site that work across 7 different mobile operating systems; and Visual Website Optimizer, from Wingify, a GUI tool for designing and managing A/B and multi-variate tests on a website without writing code.

These services offer incredible value to Acquia Network subscribers. An Acquia Network subscription now includes more than $3,500 worth of additional features, if purchased separately, without costing a penny more. Additionally, subscribers can optionally upgrade the third party services from our partners from within the Acquia Network, increasing usage based on their value to our customers.

"We are excited about the integration of Mobify into the Acquia Network because it allows us to quickly and easily enhance GlobalPost's mobile initiatives and deliver a high-quality user experience everyplace our audience finds our international reporting," said Acquia Network customer Philip S. Balboni, President and CEO of GlobalPost, a news site that publishes original international content and breaking news from around the globe. "As more traffic is delivered via mobile devices, this new service gives us an elegant solution to deliver exceptional content for our audience and increased reach for our advertisers."

“New Relic RPM has been instrumental in allowing us to monitor and improve the performance of our application. With the addition of RPM, the Acquia Network now provides a complete package on which companies can host and maintain their web applications.” said Acquia Network customer Tim Trinidad, CTO and Co-Founder of Schoology a social network and learning management system that makes it easy to create and share academic content.

Most notably, Acquia is also announcing the release of a draft API specification that will enable third party developers and SaaS product providers to deliver cloud services via the Acquia Network. The API specification is the first step towards an API framework that will enable third parties to promote and sell their services to Drupal site owners through the Acquia Network.
