George Fox University will host on-campus prayer event and offer five locations in three states for parents to gather on March 12

Parents of George Fox University students have the opportunity to gather in five locations in three different states on Saturday, March 12, for the university’s annual Parents Day of Prayer.

Parents will meet between 9 a.m. and noon in the Cap and Gown Room, located in the Student Union Building, on the Newberg, Ore., campus. Prayer requests are for students, faculty, administration and alumni.

Parents unable to meet in Newberg have the option of meeting in private homes to pray for their students. Parents are hosting corporate prayer time in Grants Pass and Klamath Falls, Ore., Seattle/Tacoma, Wash., and Diablo, Calif.

To contact the hosts at the regional sites, visit, go to Events, and click on the link to Parents Day of Prayer. To receive a list of prayer requests, parents can call Amy Lorenz at 503-554-2134.

The idea for Parents Day of Prayer was instituted 12 years ago at a parent council meeting. Several members saw a need to support teachers, students, staff and families through prayer.
