“I’m pleased that we were able to secure a fair cash settlement for our client, who suffered a number of painful injuries that will likely remain with him for years to come,” said Herb Auger.
Charlotte, N.C. (Vocus/PRWEB) March 04, 2011
Highly regarded Charlotte attorney Herbert W. Auger, of the Auger & Auger law firm, recently obtained a $490,000 personal injury settlement for a client who sustained a number of injuries when the vehicle in which he was a passenger crashed on a South Carolina highway.
The settlement was achieved pre lawsuit by Auger with three different insurance companies. The matter did not enter into litigation, so the names of the parties and insurers were kept confidential.
The accident occurred on May 7, 2008, when the Augers’ client, a Florida college student, was a front-seat passenger in a vehicle that was transporting him back to his college campus. While traveling on I-95, just outside of Yemassee, S.C., the driver, lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll several times. The driver was charged with exceeding the posted speed limit. The accident caused the victim to sustain a fractured right clavicle, right hand, right wrist and a partial amputation of his right second toe. He underwent two operations on his wrist and hand which involved the internal fixation of hardware (screws and plate) to secure the fractures.
Herbert Auger, a respected auto accident and personal injury attorney, filed liability claims against the vehicle owner’s auto insurance carrier and the driver’s personal automobile insurance carrier (excess coverage). Attorney Auger then pursued an under-insurance claim with the victim’s parent’s through the under insurance provisions of their auto insurance policy (UIM coverage). Attorney Herb Auger ultimately negotiated a settlement with the three carriers for a total of $490,000.
