Alejandro Molina Uribe today was presented with the inaugural QNet-ACL Goal of the Season 2010 Award. The ex-Seongnam Ilhwa FC Columbian midfielder, who now plays for FC Seoul, received his award at a presentation ceremony from QNet Director T.G. Kintanar prior to his team’s match against Al Ain SCC in the Tahnoun Bin Mohamed Stadium. Molina also received an exclusive Bernhard H. Mayer® La Rétrograde II watch, presented by Khaled Diab, General Manager of QNet Middle East.

Upon receiving his award, Molina said, “I am very proud and grateful to receive this award. I would like to thank QNet and AFC for their support.”

The winning goal was a sensational free kick scored in time-added-on in the 91st minute against Gamba Osaka (JPN) last 11 May 2010, and secured his team’s position in the Quarter Finals.

The QNet-ACL Goal of the Season 2010 was chosen from a shortlist of six goals, selected by the Football Asia team committee. Referring to Molina’s club ACL title last season, the committee described the performance as “a fine reflection of their triumphant march to glory in [last] year’s ACL, where Molina was an undoubted driving force.”
