Pathway to Excellence represents the highest nursing recognition for a hospital its size from the American Nurses Association.

“We are so proud of Lane Regional Medical Center’s success in developing an optimal nursing environment, and thankful to have had the opportunity to provide its Nursing team support throughout the process,” says Christine Delucas, QHR associate vice president, Nursing Services. “Lane Regional is fortunate to have an incredibly supportive leadership team, including CEO Randy Olson and CNO Jennifer Johnson, who led the Pathway to Excellence charge. Their commitment to creating and sustaining a healthy nursing environment is commendable.”

“This designation is an outstanding achievement for Lane Regional Medical Center, our nurses and the communities we serve,” says Randy Olson, chief executive officer at Lane. “It signifies our continued commitment to all by providing an ideal nursing environment – one that allows safe, quality patient care focused on improved outcomes and that personal touch.”

According to the American Nurses Association, the Pathway to Excellence designation is earned by healthcare organizations that create work environments where nurses can flourish. It is granted based on the confirmed presence of characteristics known as “The Pathway to Excellence Criteria.” These criteria are foundational to a nursing practice environment that has a positive impact on nurse job satisfaction and retention. They are integrated into operating policies, procedures and management practices of all Pathway to Excellence-designated healthcare organizations.
